On Wednesday, February 12th, 65 newly accredited psychology professionals had the opportunity to visit the VRD HealthTech booth and learn about the applications of virtual reality (VR) technology in mental health in Costa Rica.
The event, organized by the College of Psychology Professionals of Costa Rica, served as a gathering for these new professionals as they completed their registration process, officially becoming accredited practitioners in various fields of psychology.
During the event, attendees were introduced to the upcoming Certification Course offered by the College of Psychology Professionals of Costa Rica. This course will provide in-depth training on the use of VR applications as innovative tools that can enhance therapeutic interventions and offer professionals a competitive advantage in the job market.
Dr. Roberto Rodríguez and Dr. Samantha Saborío, from VRD HealthTech Latin America, led an engaging presentation showcasing the practical applications of virtual reality in psychological practice. They highlighted its potential for treating various mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, phobias, and PTSD. The session also served as an open invitation for attendees to enroll in the certification course and integrate these cutting-edge techniques into their professional toolkit.
This initiative marks a significant step toward modernizing psychological practices in Costa Rica, reinforcing the role of technology in enhancing mental health care.
On January 22nd, VRD HealthTech held an Open House event at the Hispanoamericana University campus in San José, Costa Rica.
The event welcomed over 60 advanced students and faculty members from the Psychology and Nursing programs, providing them with a unique opportunity to explore the latest advancements in virtual reality (VR) technology for healthcare applications, particularly in mental health.
The session featured a compelling presentation by Dr. Roberto Rodríguez B., Ph.D., Director of VRD HealthTech for Latin America, who discussed how VR is transforming the field of healthcare. He highlighted its applications in psychological therapy, rehabilitation, and patient care, emphasizing the growing role of immersive technology in improving treatment outcomes.
Beyond theory, attendees had the chance to experience VR technology firsthand, engaging with interactive demonstrations designed to showcase its real-world benefits. Students were enthusiastic and eager to integrate these technological innovations into their professional development, recognizing the competitive edge that such expertise can provide in their respective fields.
This Open House event underscored VRD HealthTech's commitment to education and innovation, fostering a new generation of healthcare professionals equipped with cutting-edge tools to enhance patient care and therapeutic interventions.
